Hanes

Ffurfiwyd Capel y Morfa yn 1989 trwy uniad cynulleidfaoedd Salem a Seilo. Daeth hyn wedi cyfnod hir o drafod a gweddïo. Unwyd cynulleidfaoedd y Morfa a’r Tabernacl pan gaeodd y Tabernacl yn 2002. Sefydlwyd Ebeneser, Penparcau yn 1939 yn gangen o’r Tabernacl. Wedi cau’r Tabernacl daeth yn gangen o Gapel y Morfa.

Datblygwyd Canolfan Morlan fel canolfan ffydd a diwylliant ar safle Seilo.

English

Capel y Morfa is a Welsh Presbyterian chapel situated near the centre of Aberystwyth. It has a branch at Ebeneser in Penparcau.

Capel y Morfa was formed in 1989, after a long period of discussion and prayer, by the amalgamation of the two congregations of Salem and Seilo. The congregation of Tabernacl chapel joined us in 2002 following the closure of Tabernacl.

Morning and evening services are held every Sunday, with occasional joint worship with other chapels in Aberystwyth, especially in August. There is a Sunday afternoon service at Ebeneser. All services are in Welsh.

During the week there are prayer fellowships on Tuesday morning and Thursday evening and an after school children’s club on Mondays.

Morlan Centre was established by Capel y Morfa as a faith and culture centre on the site of Seilo chapel.
